“History” seeks to understand patterns of cause and effect and the significance of events in shaping the course of societies and civilizations. “Homage” is a demonstration of respect or reverence paid to someone or something. It can take various forms, such as praise, admiration, or acknowledgment of influence.
The history and homage dinner at the Community Matters Café promised, “an elevated night of storytelling and celebration, as we explore the history and pay homage to the development of fine dining in African American culture”.
This dinner will be led by two very talented black Charlotte chefs: Executive Chef Chayil Johnson of Community Matters Cafe and Chef de Cuisine Brandon Staton of Uptown Yolk.
Reserve your spot for a cozy evening filled with good vibes, great food, and the spirit of History and Homage. This is not just a dinner; it’s a celebration!
